PHOTOS: Man Claims to Be the Shortest Person in the World

A man from Bhairahawa village in Nepal's southern plains is campaigning for recognition as the World's Shortest Man.
 

Officials at the Guinness Books of World Records have already given him a green signal, now seventy-three year old Master Nau - who is just 41 centimetres  tall - is out to prove his claim is no tall tale.
Confined to a wheelchair, Nau claims to be the shortest person in an "immovable" category - which according to the Guinness World Records recognizes a person who cannot move or walk.

His rival, from Taiwan, who holds the current record in the category, stands 68 centimetres.
World record enthusiast Thaneshwar Guragai has taken up Nau's claim and is corresponding with the organization officials from Guinness World Records. He has confirmed Nau could qualify for the record.

Thaneshwar Guragain said: "They want a video and graphs of Nau being measured. They will let us know once they receive that."
Short men in Nepal, where the average height is 5 feet six inches, have been the subject of discrimination.

But the Himalayan nation has cause to celebrate some of the World's shortest record holders.
Compatriot, Chandra Bahadur Dangi, 74, is the current record holder for the world's shortest man in the "movable" category.



He stands 54.6 centimetres tall. Another Nepali, Khagendra Thapa Magar, 22, enjoyed the record as the world's shortest man (at 67 centimetres) for a year after being measured in 2010 in the tourist town of Pokhara in western Nepal.

Reported incident - which police allegedly refused to investigate - is latest in series of sexual assaults on children in Pakistan.

A 13-year-old girl has survived after she was raped and buried alive by two men in Pakistan.
The girl was able to dig herself out of a shallow roadside grave once she had been left for dead by her attackers, who believed their sexual assault had killed her.

The teenager had been on her way to Koran lessons in the Tobe Tek Singh district of Punjab province when she was abducted by the two men.

They took her to a remote place, raped her until she passed out and then buried her.

When she had regained consciousness she was able to dig her way to the surface and raise the alarm.

The girl’s father then went to the police, but they reportedly refused to cooperate or launch an investigation.
The Lahore High Court Chief Justice’s Complaint Cell has now intervened, ordering that the incident be looked into by a district judge and instructing police to arrest the alleged attackers and submit a report.
Pakistan has seen a recent focus on the issue of child rape after a series of high profiles incidents.

The government does not release regularly updated statistics on the extent of child sexual abuse across the country, but the activist group Sahil – based in Islamabad – said cases of child sexual abuse covered by the media grew from 668 in 2002 to 2,788 in 2012.
“We still think these statistics are just a fraction of what’s going on,” said Manizeh Bano, the group’s executive director.

In a very disturbing incident, a woman has been sentenced to 54 years in prison for making child pornography with her husband and two children.

The woman, Sarah Adleta from Florida, and her husband reportedly made sex with their children a part of their parenting plan. They even continued with these shocking sexual act after the divorced.
The mother of two also confessed to performing sex acts on her 4-year-old girl on camera while another man, Aaron Dixon, watched via Skype from North Carolina.
During court proceedings, she revealed that her husband only agreed to be marred to her if she can makes sure he gets to have sex with their daughter and she agreed because she was willing to do anything to be with him.
Investigators found that the couple’s daughter, who was 4 at the time of the arrest, had the developmental level of an 18-month old, was not toilet-trained, and displayed “sexualized” behaviors.

SHOCKING: How Human Hair Weave Leads to Death of a Girl, Puts Other to Critical Condition

 
Irene Myangoh, a personal assistant working at a law firm, went to a renowned hair salon along Kenyatta Avenue, in the Kenyan capital city of Nairobi, and spent more than N5,500 on a human hair weave.

Two weeks later she started suffering from severe headache that would not go away. She even could not 

sleep at nights and was forced to call a private doctor. The doctor proscribed her drugs for the relief of mild to moderate pain of inflammatory origin with or without fever. This did not solve Myangoh’s problems: the effect from the medicine lasted for a few hours only, and then the headache would be back worse than even before.

Desperate, the lady went to see another specialist who did blood tests and even a brain scan. All the tests were negative but the headache persisted, making her unable to concentrate at work and sleeping very poorly.

Fortunately, her doctor who decided to examine her scalp carefully, and, under the beautiful weave, he found worms!

The worms were burrowing into her skull and after sending the samples to the lab they found that the hair had eggs from which the worms had developed. Irene had to shave after this ordeal and took antibiotics for two weeks. The alleged reason of parasites appearance is that the hair has been taken from a dead body.

In a parallel story, a 16-year-old girl from Buruburu, a Nairobi surburb, also suffered similar fate, but unfortunately for her, she died.

The girl dropped dead after constant headaches. Cobweb eggs were found in her hair after corpse examination. The root of death was unnoticed spider eggs. The warmth produced after weaving provided a very conducive environment for the eggs to hatch.

A spider grew in her scalp and bit her. The poison found its way to her blood. She had no chance to survive the attack…

Man Tackles Hospital For Killing His Wife & Baby

A 46-year-old tipper driver, Yesiru Ajayi, ha blamed a private hospital, Iyaniwura Medical Centre, for the death of his pregnant wife while conducting an operation on her.

The incident which took place in the Mowe area of Ogun State occurred on the 25th of October, 2013.

According to Mr. Ajayi, his wife Rashidat was initially registered with the Sagamu General Hospital but due to the doctor's strike, he had to resgister her at the private hospital where she had undergone two different scans and was allegedly told by the clinic that all was well.

Trouble started two weeks before her death, when Rashidat who was past her expected date of delivery started complaining of pains all over her body and was taken to the hospital

“She told me it was not labour pain. After she saw the doctor, he told her to come back on Friday (last week). He said if she still did not feel any labour pain, that he would give her a drug to induce labour."

On the appointed day, his wife went to the hospital by 9am while he went to work. Getting there by 8pm, his wife was still in the labour room complaining of severe pains. He was later asked to sign some papers so they could carry out an operation on her and after a while, the doctor later called him to say that she did not make it.

He alleged that his wife’s death was caused by the drug she was given to induce labour. He also said the baby girl,  whom the doctors delivered, was still alive when he saw her. However, a few moments later, he observed a nurse blocking the baby’s nose, saying she had died.

Commotion ensued as relatives of the deceased fought with the doctors and nurses, when the hospital management allegedly demanded the payment of N156,000 from the father of four, before the corpse would be released to them.

The Medical Director of Iyaniwura Medical Centre, was said to have travelled to Abeokuta when journalist called at the hospital at Ogunjobi Falana Close, Mowe. However, a doctor on duty, Ogechukwu Nnarom, dismissed the claim that the hospital was not competent to perform the surgery. He said the problem was that she had had many children, so her uterus had expanded and she started bleeding because her uterus ruptured and the surgery was meant to save her life not bring out the baby.

Nnarom made no mention of any drug given to Rashidat to induce labour. He also made no mention of the money demanded by the hospital before the corpse would be released

Another Ritual Killing at Construction Site

An indigene of Enugu Obeagu, Amuri in Nkanu West Local Government Area of Enugu State, Mr. Emmanuel Chukwu has been arrested by the police for allegedly burying a human skull at his building site.







It was gathered through a statement issued by the police spokesman in the state, Ebere Amaraizu, DSP, that the police acted on a tip-off from members of the public.

 

According to Amaraizu, “on 20/10/13 at about 1500hrs, information was received by the operatives of the command that one Emmanuel Chukwu buried a human skull at his building site.

“Following this, the operatives moved promptly to the place where the suspect was apprehended and further assisted in the recovery of the human skull after digging the spot where it was buried”.
“The suspect is helping the police in their investigations”, he added.
